Holidays at The Regent

This holiday season our Activities Department put together some wonderful trips and events. Our residents went on a Christmas light tour, attended several Christmas plays and chorus performances, and even went to see Mannheim Steamroller!

Education at The Regent

Are you interested in learning Arabic?

 

Learning a language is a great way to keep your brain active and healthy!

 

 

 

Starting this Friday, October 19th at 2:00pm, The Regent will be offering classes on basic Arabic. These classes are part of our new Regent University program where we offer various classes for the further education of our residents and guests. Our very own Customer Service Associate, Jenna Dolecek, will be teaching the class. She is a senior at Wichita State majoring in International Studies with a focus on the Middle East. The class will begin with a little history of the Arabic language and an introduction to the alphabet. First, students will learn to recognize the alphabet, then they will move on to pronounciation, and finally, they will learn to write. Once reading, writing, and pronounciation of the alphabet has been mastered, students will move on to numbers and simple words and phrases. This class will move as fast or as slow as the students wish. Classes will be held once a week on Fridays at 2:00pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend, make sure to RSVP by calling 316-631-3900. Hurry! Space is limited! We hope to see you there!

History at The Regent

On Wednesday, August 29th, we took a trip to the Butler Country Historical Society and Kansas Oil Museum. Our residents had a blast learning about Kansas' past!

 

Travel at The Regent

Here at The Regent, we understand that not everyone is able to get out and travel. Our Activities department has decided to bring destinations to our residents! We are partnering with the Polynesia Arts Club to bring Hawaii to Kansas! Here at The Regent we try to bring as much as possible to our community so residents don't have to hassle with transportation. We also have guests share their travels and we have even had an India themed party!

Birthdays at The Regent

Every month The Regent celebrates their residents' birthdays. 

We have party once a month that celebrates all of our residents who have birthdays that month. 

We have cake, drinks, and a fun activity! 

Birthdays for the month of May were Mary, Pat, Barbara, Shirley, and Verna.
