Legend Senior Living is a privately held Wichita based company founded in 2001 by Wichita resident Tim Buchanan. Legend Senior Living owns and operates 18 assisted living and retirement residences in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Mr. Buchanan is a lifelong resident of Wichita and has established and operated multiple successful local and national businesses.
For over 25 years, Mr. Buchanan has been creating award winning residential living environments for individuals and families. He has been a pioneer and leader in the Senior Housing and Care industry in the United States for the last 18 years. Mr. Buchanan co-founded Sterling House Corporation in Wichita in 1990, pioneering assisted living in the United States by designing, developing, and operating hundreds of new senior residences in 35 states across the nation prior to leaving the company in 1999.
Legend Senior Living has grown through acquisitions and the development of new properties, and today operates 18 retirement and assisted living residences serving people in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Florida.

The management team at Legend includes industry leaders with national experience dedicated to bringing to bear the best service and innovative practices to enhance the lives of those we serve. Each space is uniquely designed and appointed, offering residents a variety of environments to suite their individual taste and mood. Built upon our foundational Legend Core Values and Legend Philosophy of Care are the Legend Pillars of Practice. Adherence to these principles of conduct is essential to fulfilling our commitment to each customer and co- worker. Each team member commits to check themselves daily against these principles.
