When Barbara (now 66) was 11 years old, she made a promise to her grandmother -who was dying of cancer and lived with Barbara's family - that she would someday take care of people like her. Barbara watched her own family struggle with care-giving as her grandmother's health declined. At the time, there weren't places like The Regent for her family to turn to."By coming to a senior living community like The Regent," she said, "it gives everyone peace of mind, which is the greatest gift you can ever give someone."
Barbara is originally from Mobile, Alabama. She has a son and a daughter and two grandsons.
"Laughter is one of the best medicines in the whole wide world, " she said. "It's very hard to laugh when you're by yourself!" We are thrilled to welcome Barbara to The Regent family!
